Eliza Gilkyson - 'Paradise Hotel'

Released in 2005 but worth a mention as it ties in with an imminent UK tour. Her last CD Land of Milk and Honey received a Grammy nomination, this one continues the excellent songwriting she's so well known for and includes guest appearances from fellow Austin stars including Shawn Colvin and Slaid Cleaves. The only track not penned by Eliza is a great version of World Party's "Is It Like Today?" but it's her own material that grips and makes a ticket for her live dates an essential purchase.
